Pannyavaro is an Australian who ordained as a Buddhist monk over 20 years ago. He is a meditation teacher in the Burmese Vipassana Insight tradition and webmaster of BuddhaNet.net. The worlds most popular Buddhist website according to google, with over 900000 file serves per day. Ven. Pannyavaro has devoted his life to the meditational aspects of the Buddhas teachings. During his monastic training, he practised under several meditation masters including Ven. Sayadaw U Janaka of Chanmyay Meditation Centre, Burma, who is the foremost disciple of the renowned Burmese meditation master, the late Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw. Ven. Pannyavaro helped in the building of a number of the very early Buddhist communities and centres in Australia. He received full ordination at Wat Borvornivet, under the Sangha Raja of Thailand, Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara.
