I find the piano the most beautiful instrument there is.

Search for Dax Johnson, for example.

But I’ll manage.^-^ Teehee…Again, thank you SO much for the lessons, they’re very helpful!^-^ *subscribes you and adds you to friends*

I found at the very beginning when you listed the keys you are playing extremely helpful, I think you should go back and add all the keys in because its easier to differentiate what key your hitting then. But that’s just my opinion, one piano player to another, Love this!!!! great job

might it be that you play it somehow different to the sheets that you provided?
at 4:00 you just show to play 3 notes, but the sheet says it’s 4 notes, same with the next accord..

@SonicAcademy never mind i found it, set the midi track to in from the melody track… it works. thanks again.

19 04 2011
Headshet

@SonicAcademy i didn’t exactly understand, what do u mean?

19 04 2011
SonicAcademy

@Headshet you can record the midi to another track giving you the exact notes… i do this all the time.

19 04 2011
Headshet

i have a question… so lets say i create the track this way..

if i want to export a midi of the notes, the whole thing will sound different… so no point.

@TheTurningBull any other cool stuff we should ignore? maybe non destructive editing? we could just start splicing tape again. Dont ignore this cool feature, just learn some theory as well, dont limit anything.

19 04 2011
TheTurningBull

A superb feature of Ableton, however as a musician this will make you very lazy! If you don’t know much music theory its better to actually IGNORE this feature and learn scales and chords…you will make better music in the long run

When I play using my computer keyboard I’m sure scale doesn’t work but when I draw in midi notes in a clip it does work. Is that normal?

uschaba

So I guess this is pretty much like a schwarzonator max patch……I mean the combination of scale and chord midi effects together create the same great tool as Henrik S.’s powerful Max effect…Please tell me if I am wrong, but it seems finally I could create real good melodies without practicing on the piano for years…….I love it!!!!!

@freddy247247 you are silly, logic is just as good i use and teach tutorials on both, logic is far better if you have alot of external gear or want to do a lot of recording, plus the built in effects are alot nicer.

They are both very good tools and saying either are rubbish means you have not used them enough or at all.

Nice work. Live makes everything so easy. I love how intuitive the program is. Excellent tutorial. Cheers.
