@GenericCoolaid You may be eating too little calories therefore your metabolism (the rate at which you burn fat and calories ) actually decreases so your body holds onto the fat…it thinks it is starving and has to conserve…1200 sounds good! 🙂 Be well. Alycia

@SamihaB4U Doesnt really matter. When do you have most energy? thats when you probably should be able to exercise most effectively. Just remember, you will probably be “up” and not be able to sleep right away…:) Be well. Alycia

@SamihaB4U Thats great!!!! A recent study from Harvard University sites the MOST important component ion weight loss is decreasing your caloric intake (no lower than 1200/day) and the MOST important component to keeping it off is exercise….so both both occur. @EmpowerYourBody Well, I want to lose 30 lbs as well as tone my body by the end of this year. I started going to the gym beginning of this month, 5 days a week, 1.5-2 hours/day. But the quanity of days are going to change to 2 days since school’s starting. Im starting body conditioning next month, 2 days/week + dance class 1 day/week.

@Betochivas90 basically most research is ALWAYS changing and unfortunately, isnt always consistant with other professionals. With that said, it really depends on you. Try to stay away from the shakes, eat real food, and eating a balanced meal after your workout is usually more important than eating before. That way you will repair and replenish your muscles and keep your metabolism burning. Be well. Alycia

@Betochivas90 Well…I never suggest doing anything everyday. However, it is not necessarily ineffective to use your muscles when they are sore…it is actually good to get some blood flow and then stretch them. Hope that helps. Be well. Alycia

@Betochivas90 well, I dont suggest taking protein shakes. I always suggest to my clients to eat real food b/c you might be taking in more than you need. Basically, yes, your stomach can inflate from the shakes. Did someone suggest them to you? Be well. alycia
