To be honest, sometimes I watch Alex his tutorials because I like the way he explains it. I learned a lot through most of his tutorials, thanks again.

How do you view your image as a thumbnail or 100 x 100 rather than the fullsize?

@Rogueixpresents Dude The Docs would be great for the purpose of following along without having to run the vid back and forth a ton.

Dude, with copy and paste you WILL NEVER learn something 🙂 . you need copy from vid and get definitions in wiki. So you can know what is means like . echo “HELLO WORLD”; and some stuff…

@505WIL i find you need to do:

if(isset($_GET[‘whatever’])) {
$variabel = $_GET[‘whatever’];
}

that will prevent the error from showing up

@MrPownya he was probably doing it that way for speed’s sake 😛

@h3llf1re1 this is a bad way of getting round errors, search on google the error with the xampp version and php version and this will help!

@505WIL i got this too, did a little research and found this:

If you start your script with

error_reporting(0);

it will turn off all notices, warnings, errors are parse problems (and a host of other things) from being reported. That might be a bit too much of a change; to turn notices off but leave everything else unchanged, use

$ebits = ini_get(‘error_reporting’);
error_reporting($ebits ^ E_NOTICE);

hope it helps

I have watched your pagination tutorial but I am having problems incorporating the pagination script into the search script, could you possibly continue the search engine tutorials to include this?

14 04 2011
dashby1969

How do you limit the number of results per page, same as google, say 5 results per page then maybe 3 pages ?

14 04 2011
economakis

my page doesnt go to the search php page, it just stays on the the home page. Can any one help?

The first if statement where you are checking the input shouldnt it be the $search instead of $submit?

Reason I ask is that the first echo ‘you dint enter a keyword’ gets ignored when I use $button

@renegade8164 Yeah I guess you’re right. That’s probably better practice.

14 04 2011
renegade8164

@TheSyntaxOverride it’s outdated. He should used a div with a style element.

@renegade8164 Why is center no good?

If it wasn’t for your gay accent this crappy tutorial would be completely useless for me.

14 04 2011
renegade8164

Good tutorial… but, man…
you should check out XHTML or HTML5 basics..
tags like font, center etc. isn’t good these days…
